DescriptionLetter from Lord Granville to Queen Victoria reporting that he has seen Mr Gladstone and Mr Cowper on the subject of the Fine Arts Commissioners. He states that most of the work was completed under Prince Albert, as President, and all that needs to be done is approval of sketches and sculptures 'whose respective subjects and locality are already decided. He also reports that an objection was raised in the House of Commons on the continuance of money for the Fine Arts Commission, even though they had attained their original objective.
