Copy letter from Frederick Peel to Lord John Russell stating that he would accept the office under Earl Grey [as Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies], having reflected and come to the conclusion that on the matter of public policy he was in agreement with the present Government. On the Reform Bill he states that hopes that any measures taken will be in conformity with the outline previously provided by Russell.
