DescriptionLetter from Edwin Chadwick to Colonel Phipps asking that his thanks be forwarded to Prince Albert for his paper on the utilisation of sewage and comments favourably on the proposed filtration design. He also makes some suggestions regarding the use of the filtration system in different situations, particularly in the transport of the manure in the absence of hydraulic arrangements. Chadwick also requests a further dozen copies of the plan so that he can share it with their inspectors [of the General Board of Health].
