Description
Letter from Edward Driver to Lord Lincoln reporting on his interview with James Ralfe, the solicitor for Winchester College, regarding a negotiation for the purchase of Barton Farm. He states that the college are willing to 'afford any accommodation that may be required by the Queen' and would accept any estate in exchange for the property. The letter also includes descriptions of further tenements owned by the college in the area. Encloses a tracing from a plan of the premises (see VIC/MAIN/F/21/39).
