Description
Letter from Lord Clarendon to Prince Albert in which he encloses a copy of a dispatch from Colonel Stanton which 'leaves no doubt of the military importance of Belgrade to Russia'. Clarendon also mentions a letter from 'a well informed Englishman', living in the United States, who shares details of [James] Buchanan and the likelihood that he will become President. He also recommends Admiral Grey for his appointment.
