Description
Draft letter from Lord John Russell to Mr Dallas acknowledging the invitation, made by the municipality of New York, to host a visit by the Prince of Wales . He reports however that as the Prince will be travelling without the title of the Prince of Wales a formal ceremony would not be required. Instead he states that the Prince hoped to visit New York between 15-30 September and would pay a visit to the Mercantile community. Includes ammendments made by the Prince Consort in red ink.
