Description
Copy of an Order of the Privy Council regarding the armorial bearings of the Prince of Wales, at the Court of St. James's Palace, on the 6 December 1714. It is recorded that the Earl of Suffolk proposed that the Prince of Wales should bear the Royal Arms and that His Majesty ordered the Lords of the Privy Council to report back on this subject.
Includes an annotation in Prince Albert's hand noting that this formed the precedent by which 'new armorial bearings can be bestowed upon the Prince of Wales'.
