DescriptionQueen Victoria writes to Prince Albert apologising for not answering his and Ernest's letters for her birthday. She says she believes he will forgive her when he knows how much she has had to do. She also mentions that everybody who has seen both Albert and Ernest have told her how they have improved in all ways ('de toutes les manière'). She also wishes Prince Albert many happy returns for his birthday on the 26 August. Includes envelope written in French and addressed to Albert at Bonn. Also includes a red wax seal and a Frankfurt postal date stamp of 19 August 1838.
