DescriptionIncludes correspondence of and relating to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's children and grandchildren, family members and relations (e.g. the Duchess of Kent, Augusta Caroline, Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Princes Ernest and Charles and Princess Marie of Leiningen), and other oreign Royalty (e.g. Eugenie, Empress of the French and Princess Clementine of Orleans). The series also includes correspondence with Prince Albert, Prince Consort; a set of registers of letters for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert recording letters received; Queen Victoria's reminiscences of Prince Albert's life and account of his death. Other papers of Prince Albert, Prince Consort, include a collection of his personal documents. Queen Victoria's personal papers include correspondence with Baroness Lehzen and material dating from her childhood such as exercise books, daily state of lessons, journals of books read and plays seen and her collections of paper dolls. Also included in this series are files of Royal Household memoranda relating to appointments and the Privy Purse.
