Description
William proposed standardising the age at which Princes of the blood were made Knights of the Garter, as the [Holy Roman] Emperor [Joseph II's] brothers' children were bestowed with the Toison D'or [Order of the Golden Fleece] at infancy, and William wished for his son [Prince William Frederick] to be the equal of foreign royalty.
