William thanks the Prince for offering his son command of a troop in the Prince's regiment, but informs him that George III had already offered him a company in the Duke of Gloucester's regiment, a position vacated by L[or]d Malgraves who had been appointed to M[ajor] G[eneral] Stewart's regiment.
