[?Taylor, Herbert, Sir; private secretary to William IV]
Description
Both papers were probably drawn up by Sir Herbert Taylor [?] and they both concern the appointment of the Commander-in-Chief of the Forces and the duties associated with that role - especially after the examples set by the Duke of York [ Commander-in-Chief from 1811 to 1827] and then the Duke of Wellington who brought about a change in the Superintending Administration of the Army.
