The Queen expresses her deepest sympathies for the sad event occurred in Lady Ely's family - the death of Lady Ely's child [Elizabeth Caroline Loftus, died 3 October 1836]. The Queen has not been very well and called Doctor Chambers to investigate the cause of her cough; he found her lungs not in a bad state and prescribed her some medicines. The Duchess of Gloucester [Princess Mary, Duchess] is also suffering from the damp weather; she is now in town and will join the Queen in Brighton later in November.
