The Representatives of the Parishes of the County of Middlesex are writing to congratulate William for his role in defending the freedom of the inhabitants of Jamaica [this might refer to the events occurred in November/December 1782, when the British Army prevented the Spanish and French fleet to invade Jamaica]: 'Threatened as we have been by the machinations of powerful and ambitious Enemies, we behold in Your Person, the future Champion for the liberties of mankind.'
