Addressee

Description
William is glad to know that Mrs Smith has been rewarded [in her husband's will] for her dedication to her husband. He comments more on the will [the details of which have been communicated by Lord Mayo].He would be happy to see the Lord and Lady Mayo in London - if they are going to be in town, as the Duchess [Adelaide] seem to have understood from the Countess [Lady Mayo]. William wants Lord Mayo's opinion on Ireland - he knows that they disagree on the means to bring peace in the country, but they are surely both against the Catholic Board and Rent, as well as against Papist Priests.
