William is glad to know that the Duke of Northumberland [Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland] is pleased with the present state of Ireland. William believes [Daniel] O'Connel's days in the House of Commons are over as well as the priests influence; after the Election Ireland will move towards a permanent tranquillity and improvement. Sending best wishes from the Duchess [Adelaide].
