DescriptionThe Duke sent his last duties to George III and begged him to forgive any displeasure he had caused. He sent the same sentiments to his mother [Augusta, Dowager Princess of Wales], and his love and friendship to his siblings [Princess] Augusta [Hereditary Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg], [Princess] Louisa, Caroline [Matilda, Queen of Denmark and Norway], and Harry [Henry, Duke of Cumberland and Strathearn]. He adds that he is writing in a weakened state and signs off 'adieu my dearest brother E'. [Edward died at Monaco on the 17 September 1767.]
