Description
The Duke mentions an unhappy occasion concerning George, Prince of Wales. He then expresses doubts about Lord Spencer being able to continue his service [as First Lord of the Admiralty] due to ill health, the Duke proposes himself as candidate for that position, as First Lord or under any other title preferred by the King.
In a post scriptum note the Duke asks the King to burn this letter in case his request is not granted.
